Farther Farms is Extending the Life of Your Produce

Farther Farms is working to transform food processing with an innovative technology developed in Cornell’s Food Science department. The patented technology can extend the shelf life of fresh produce by months without using preservatives, chemicals, freezing, or refrigeration. By harnessing a unique application of high pressure and moderate temperature, our technique seeks to become the most sustainable food processing option available, reducing food waste, curtailing energy expenditure, and expanding access to nutrition.  With wide ranging applications throughout the food industry, Farther Farms begins its journey with the Natural Cuts French Fry – a fresh-cut, never-frozen French fry – targeted for sale to the foodservice sector.

“Working with our mentors and supporters at Launch NY has given us the professional guidance needed to push forward in this challenging endeavor.  We’re seeking to make big changes in a highly competitive industry, and the local and regional support we’ve received thus far has been nothing short of extraordinary.” – Mike Annunziata, CEO Farther Farms
