University Research Online Searchable Database

ResearchConnection is the first searchable online database for all university research initiatives and research jobs across the country, eventually expanding to include the international market and the private sector. ResearchConnection is, however, really so much more than just a static collection of information—the goal is to be a centralized networking hub for labs, researchers, students, and research institutes, where users make live profiles in which they can update their own information and post about jobs, progress, events, and whatever else they can think of.

Think Google meets LinkedIn meets TheLadders — for research!

By offering an array of essential, interconnected services in one package, they’re aiming for the one-stop-shop model: a place to help with every aspect of your research lifecycle, from collaborating, to hiring, to getting funding and PR. They think it’s about time somebody started looking at the research world in the same light as so many other business and job markets out there, because it really is one of the most important professional sectors in the world. They are launching at Binghamton University on November 10th 2014 and thereafter launching at 12 other universities, in which they have teams. These include universities such as, Columbia University, Cornell University, Emory University, John Hopkins University, MIT, Boston University, just to name a few. The teams at these universities include one ‘team leader’ and on average 5 interns.

Who is ResearchConnection?

Ariel Katz

Ariel Katz

Ariel Katz is an undergraduate at SUNY Binghamton majoring in psychology. He is from Manhattan and grew up on the upper west side of NYC. After reading the Steve Jobs biography (three times) in his freshman year, he started dreaming of having the same passion as Steve did for Apple. Right now, he is completing his honors thesis in the Translational Affective Neuroscience lab, which was the inspiration behind ResearchConnection. He realized the process to get involved in research was very difficult; moreover, he found it was difficult to find out what research was going on at Binghamton University. Now Ariel is leading ResearchConnection and bringing innovation to the research world.
