Buffalo Automation Group Following up last month’s big competition wins for Energy Intelligence, Inc., and Tencar, Inc., Buffalo Automation Group (BAG), a Buffalo company and Launch NY client, has won a second major contest in the past month with a first place in the Information Technology and Software category of the New York State Business Plan Competition. This follows up their first place win at the 2016 Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition. BAG is developing self-navigation technology for ships. “Al Culliton(Launch NY EIR) and the Launch NY team have helped us fine tune our business to the real needs of the market and have been an invaluable source of encouragement” – Thiru Vikram, CEO Buffalo Automation Group.
Geri-Safe Geri-Safe develops sophisticated safety devices for senior adults. Currently they offer four safety devices, including Medi-Trust, an automated and programmable pill dispenser that drastically reduces possibilities for human error. “Brad Treat(Launch NY EIR) and the Southern Tier Startup Alliance in partnership with Launch NY have provided invaluable support in helping to get our device through the rough prototype phase to a more sophisticated design by assisting with the design process, providing supplies and equipment, and increasing our network capabilities. Manoj, who joins us from Columbia University, has years of entrepreneur education experience. He is the Founder and CEO of M-Phi Innovators, a specialized technology service company. At a prior tenure, Manoj was the Director of Technology, Business Development and Entrepreneurship at Center for Computational Learning Systems at Columbia University. He specializes in entrepreneurship, multi-year strategy development, budgeting technology direction and project proposals. Manoj holds a Masters in Technology Management from Columbia University, Masters in Computer Applications and a Bachelors in Physics from Calicut University, India.
