Improving the Volunteer Experience
Volu is a mobile and desktop application that hopes to improve the volunteer space. Volu is working alongside numerous non-profit organizations to gain valuable insight of market needs, receive feedback on their existing platform, and establish a proof of concept. Chris McCarthy writes “We’re really excited about Volu. We’re just beginning to understand the impact this could have. I’m passionate about our community, and the work of non-profits, and I can’t wait to see if Volu can help us make the Syracuse area a better place.” To learn more about Volu and be added to their mailing list, please reach out to Chris at: cmccarthy
The Volu Entrepreneur
Chris McCarthy wears many hats, he currently serves as partner and chief technology officer of ChronicleMe, the supportive social network, co-founder and co-executive director of Job Shadow Syracuse, and co-founder of Volu. As a co-chair in Syracuse’s young professional organization, 40 Below, Chris saw an opportunity to promote volunteering and civic engagement in Syracuse. Before learning how to build web and mobile applications, Chris graduated from Syracuse University and researched genetic disorders at Upstate Medical Center for four years. This year, Chris was awarded as an honoree of Central New York’s 40 Under 40, which exemplifies leadership in business and community involvement.
